This Legionella course has been developed to address the issues that surround Legionella and Legionnaires’ disease, the management and treatment of water systems, health and safety management, current UK legislation, good practice procedures and a review a selection of outbreaks and incidents.
Who will benefit?
All staff involved in the management and operation of building water systems and those who have a roll in the control procedures.
The course of 1 day completes with an exam, accredited marked and certificated by WHT Ltd. This course is a scaled down version of the four day course and suitable for those having had no training in the past.
Those who want a fully comprehensive course and are in a responsible person’s role should consider a four day course.
The Aim
To provide delegates with a comprehensive understanding of their responsibilities for building water systems, and to learn the following:
• Hot and cold water systems, cooling towers, and minimal knowledge on Legionella risks
• Clinical Aspects
• The Law
• The requirements for health and safety management
• The approved code of practice (L8) and procedures to control Legionella bacteria
• Current UK legislation, your obligations and the importance of compliance
risks• Recent incidents and outbreaks of Legionnaires’ disease
• About practical examples from an experienced Legionella specialist within the field of operations of control for over 22 years.
