Benefits
Control is key to ensuring that HVAC systems provide a satisfactory indoor environment. Some of the potential benefits from checking system control include:
» Verification of system performance.
» Prevention of potential problems.
» Identification of problems before they become critical or even before they are known.
» Potential cost savings in terms of maintenance and energy.
» Information to help you manage your building more effectively.
» Help reduce complaints, leading to a happier, healthier, more productive workforce.
» The Building Systems Health Check Service compliments HBI’s ventilation system hygiene and condition checks by also assessing how well those systems are controlled and operated. By assessing HVAC system performance in conjunction with cleanliness and condition it ensures that everything, related to the system, that can impair occupant comfort is accounted for.
Features
HVAC system controls are assessed using HBI’s Building Systems Health Check Service, which includes:
» visual inspection of sensor locations for unrepresentative influences
» visual inspection of sensors for cleanliness and signs of damage
» visual inspection of valve and damper actuator connections and condition
» logging of the outside air, space and air supply temperatures throughout the day
» visual inspection during the logging day of the plant operation.
Performance is assessed by comparing measured and desired conditions and analysing whether the systems respond correctly to changing conditions.
Tests and checks do not interfere with the operation of the control systems.
