Recent additions to our team mean that we now offer to our clients, substantial experience in the broader areas of occupational health and safety and environmental planning, impact assessment, compliance auditing, pre-purchase/pre-finance due diligence assessments together with construction environmental management services.

History

Established in Sydney in 1987 and majority Australian owned, Healthy Buildings International Pty Ltd provides a range of consultancy services to many of Australia’s leading property owners, infrastructure contractors, and government portfolio and project managers.

Our pro-active services can add value to your projects from initial design stages to ongoing post commissioning monitoring.

As we are independent of organisations providing product, installation, remedial, maintenance and cleaning services, our recommendations and advice provide our clients with an unbiased assessment of true conditions – both indoors and externally.

Originally founded in the USA in 1983, Healthy Buildings International (HBI) provides a world-wide service from offices in Australia, UK, Ireland, West Coast America and the group headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia. The HBI group offers the broadest building health & safety and environmental auditing experience available anywhere.

HBI remains committed to its charter to provide the highest levels of technical expertise combined with practical experience to owners of the built environment and the wider public and private infrastructure groups who seek independent health, safety and environmental advice.

The HBI Team

Healthy Buildings International Pty Limited has a policy of employing qualified and trained Consultants and Technicians from diverse scientific and engineering backgrounds. HBI staff hold qualifications in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Occupational Health & Safety and Engineering, to name but a few. Other accreditations include Green Star and NABERS. HBI also have active involvement with various institutions, including the Facility Management of Australia and the Safety Institute of Australia.

Staff & Skills Development

In order to ensure that Healthy Buildings International remain at the forefront of development within the industry, staff are actively encouraged to pursue training and research. Indeed, this is seen as an important means of assuring they provide the most up-to-date information to clients. It is therefore no surprise to learn that a member of the HBI staff was the very first to enrol on the new MSc course in Intelligent Buildings at Reading University. A lot of this information along with latest legislation, which impacts upon our clients and the indoor environment, is published in HBI's regular newsletters or can be viewed in more detail on the news page.

Global Approach to Quality

Healthy Buildings International staff routinely make technical presentations or conduct continual professional development seminars for clients, associations and conventions. In addition, HBI personnel have acted as expert witnesses in several recent court cases.

As all HBI building inspections throughout the world are undertaken to the same exacting standards, the information is compiled and recorded in a unique database, thus enabling HBI to pass on its world-wide technical experience to its clients.

HBI hold comprehensive Professional Indemnity Insurance, Public Liability Insurance and Workers Compensation Insurance.
